Step by step · How to make Tiny Desk AI on AI Effects Video

  1. Watch the whole performance

Open the sample and watch the singer close-up, saxophone passage and ending. Select Recreate to keep this scene in the generator.

  2. Add one lead-singer portrait

Upload one adult in clear, even light to Lead singer. A front-facing or slight three-quarter portrait gives the close-up a useful face reference; leave the eyes and mouth unobstructed.

  3. Choose quality and review the total

Select an available resolution and check its live price. The full reference is 10.1 seconds; the 8-second card preview does not determine your order length.

  4. Save the order and keep its link

Confirm the required permissions, save the order and continue through the existing checkout. Keep the private link for manual preparation, status and MP4 download.

Where does the Tiny Desk AI look come from?

The name evokes the small-room, desk-side performance format associated with NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. The AI example here is a separate staged band scene supplied by MakeViral. These references explain the visual idea; they do not establish the first AI meme, a social-media origin date or an official affiliation.

Copy and paste · Tiny Desk AI reference prompt

This effect is preset here: upload your portrait, with no prompt required. This original reference description is for tools that accept prompts; it does not guarantee the same result.

Create a vertical fictional desk-side band performance using the supplied adult portrait for the lead singer only. Establish the room with record shelves, plants, a keyboard on the desk and microphones. Move into a clear expressive close-up of the lead, give the fixed saxophone player a short solo, then return to the group for the ending. Keep the lead’s facial identity distinct from the other adult musicians throughout. Preserve plausible hands, a stable microphone and coherent instrument shapes. Use an original performance atmosphere without branding or a real artist’s voice.

What changes in the desk concert?

Your photo supplies the lead singer’s identity. The desk, room, instruments, supporting performers and shot progression come from the selected scene. The close-up makes the mouth, teeth and eye area especially visible, so inspect those features when reviewing the result.

The source opens on the group, moves closer to the lead, turns toward the saxophone and ends with the band together. The order uses the complete 10.1-second reference, rather than the shorter discovery clip.

You receive one MP4 at the purchased resolution. The sample is 720 × 1280 in 9:16, with stereo AAC audio. The sample’s pixels describe the reference; select the quality offered in the generator for your own order.

The reference contains a stereo AAC audio track. A named song, original singer’s voice or exact synchronization is not included as a promise.

What goes wrong, and how do you fix it?

The face changes in the close-up

Choose a sharper, evenly lit portrait with the eyes and mouth visible. Heavy filters, a hand across the face or a tiny face crop give less useful detail; likeness can still vary.

The singer and sax player look alike

Use one individual in the upload. This version replaces only the lead; do not use a band collage or try to assign several people to the same slot.

Hands, microphone or instrument shapes distort

Review these areas throughout the delivered clip. The instrument performance is an AI interpretation; changing the portrait cannot guarantee exact finger positions or musical technique.

A photo fails to upload

Use a supported JPG, PNG or WebP up to 4 MiB. Follow the error beside the role and check the thumbnail before saving.

FAQ · Tiny Desk AI questions

Do I need to sing, record a video or write a prompt?

No. This preset takes one adult portrait for the lead singer. There is no singing recording or required prompt field in this flow.

What photo works for the singer close-up?

Choose a sharp portrait of one adult with a visible face, natural lighting and no sunglasses or strong face filter. Check the uploaded thumbnail before saving.

Can I replace the saxophone player or the whole band?

This version has one upload role: Lead singer. The saxophone player, keyboard player and backing performers belong to the fixed scene. A group photo does not create extra editable roles.

Does it include Outstanding or a cloned singing voice?

No particular song, recording, voice or precise lip sync is promised. The sample has audio; review the delivered soundtrack with the finished video.

Is this an official NPR video?

No. This is a fictional AI performance template. It is independent of NPR and does not place you in an actual concert recording.

What if payment or delivery is unclear?
